All templates offered at the Limesurvey Template Shop can be downloaded as ZIP archives after purchase.
To import the downloaded ZIP file at Limesurvey the
PHP ZIP library
has to be installed (pretty standard) and the folders /tmp and /upload (and all subfolder)
have to be writeable.
To import a ZIP file login at the Limesurvey admin backend and go to the template editor:
At the Limesurvey template editor, click the icon to import a template:
You will then be asked to select the ZIP file. Go to the folder where you have placed it when having downloaded it
and afterwards click the "Import template ZIP archive" button:
If your server is configured properly an overview of the imported files (the template will be placed at this folder on your server:
/limesurvey/upload/template/TEMPLATENAME) is shown. At the bottom of that list you can click the
"Open imported template"
button to load the imported template at the Limesurvey template editor.
Once you have imported a downloaded Limesurvey template (see topic above), you can assign the new template
to your survey by editing the survey settings. Go to "Survey properties" -> "General settings":
At the "Presentation & navigation" tab there is a drop down list to select the template:
After having selected the template click "Save" at the bottom of the page and you are done.
If you plan to use a certain template for most of your surveys, you can set a default template at Limesurvey.
Note that you might need advanced user rights to change this setting. The default template can be set at the "Global settings" of Limesurvey:
At the "General" tab there is a drop down list to select the "Default template":
After having selected the template click "Save settings" at the bottom of the page. Note that the now set default template will only be used for surveys that we not assigned a different template manually.
